Industrial Engineers work on interdisciplinary and interdepartmental projects, dealing with both technological and economic issues. With their dual orientation, Industrial Engineers usually work in positions where they coordinate between technology and business administration, especially in sales, production management, procurement, quality assurance, controlling, and product and project management. They are not real all-rounders, but rather interdisciplinary specialists.
